Got to end the day on a very sad note. My beloved Nikon D5100 is dead. Actually it is dead and destroyed. Took out the camera in the evening to take a passport size picture of my son; needed for his school admission.
Had kept the camera on the dressing table and just as I was about to pick it up holding the body, the camera belt got entangled with a drawer handle. I had picked up the camera suddenly and with that sudden force the camera slipped out of my hand and fell on the floor.
I was just dumbfound to see the camera lying split into two parts. Picked it up and understood the damage to be severe. The lens is completely destroyed and uprooted from the camera base. I have no hopes for the lens but if somehow the camera body could be repaired.

40000 rupees gone in a second. I had purchased this one in 2013 from Mustafa, Singapore. Used it to capture some really wonderful moments. Completely heart broken now. Will be taking it to service centre. Hope some how it can come back to life.
